1. Have-a-Go Clay Shooting Experience
shooting instructor 20 Shots - 25 per person, minimum 2 people This is for people who have never had any experience of handling or firing a shotgun and would like to know if it is the sort of thing that would appeal to them. It is an ideal way for a group of friends to get together for an hour or so to try it out together and makes an ideal anniversary type event. We usually put on these events on a Saturday, when the Clubhouse is open for refreshments. We have a shooting stand with an instructor, and everyone takes turns to shoot at a choice of targets so in the end you will each shoot at 20 targets. The typical group size is 5 or 6, and it takes about an hour. We supply all the necessary equipment.

How do I get a Gift Voucher? Just Purchase the voucher of your choice from the selection above and then email us with the name of the person and the date you are going to present the gift. We will organise the Voucher and email it back to you so you can print it out and give it on the appropriate day.

How do we arrange the date of the event? You can either just give the voucher and let the recipient contact us to arrange a convenient day, or you can arrange the time and day in advance and we can put that on the voucher. Whichever suits you best.

What should I wear? You only really need to attend in suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year It would be a good idea to have something like a gilet to wear while actually shooting to give you a little extra comfort on your shoulder. Also bring a cap - a baseball cap is ideal as it will give protection to your head and forehead

How many in a group? We only guarantee that you do not share an individual lesson. All the other packages can involve combining people from other groups. Usually if there are up to seven of you, you will stay in 1 group.

If there are more than 10 of you we would put you into 2 groups. We try to achieve a balance between giving each person time to savour the experience and watch their friends shoot, and not taking too long and getting bored.

How long does it take? We expect a group of 6 people to take about 2 hours to complete a 40 target course. The time varies according to group size and the level of confidence of the participants.

The Have a Go and High Gun Packages will take less time depending on the numbers in the group

Do I need to bring anything? See 'What should I wear' above.
We supply all the equipment you will need including suitable shotguns, cartridges and hearing and eye protection

What Days and Times can we do this? We are open Tuesday - Saturday 10 - 4 for lessons for individuals and groups. Unfortunately we are unable to offer shooting on Sundays or Mondays

Is there a bar at the LVSA? No – we are not licensed. However he Clubhouse is open for refreshments on Saturdays and the bacon rolls are legendary

Are you insured? Yes the Shooting Club is fully insured and affiliated to the CPSA

Dear Alex,

Just thought I'd say thanks for Saturday when we came for a clay pigeon shooting experience. We all thought that the facilities were good and well organised. we were warmly welcomed and Tim took care of us and made our morning a real laugh. The booking process by email for the shooting vouchers was easy and your courtesy call the night before was appreciated. We felt that it was good value for money and all of us will come again in the future and recommend your club to others.

Thanks once again,

Hi Alex

Just to say we all really enjoyed the clay pigeon shooting day - what an experience! I think a few of us are hooked. Tim the instructor was fantastic with a great sense of humour!
